Breastplates

With a breastplate you prevent the saddle from sliding backwards. A breastplate is therefore especially useful for jumping or for round horses on which the saddle does not remain stable. A martingale can be attached to a breastplate so that the horse cannot raise the head too high with the result that you lose contact with your horse.
