A cavesson is a bitless bridle that is best suited for lunging. When lunging, the lunge line is often attached to the bit of the bridle, but to spare the sensitive mouth of your horse it is better to use a cavesson. This acts on the nose, which is less sensitive than the corners of your horse's mouth. The noseband provides rings to which you can attach the lunge line.
